Reading
Counts)
This
motivational software program supplements our reading
curriculum
 and
is designed to strengthen reading skills.
Each student progresses at his or her own pace. The
program uses lexile levels to determine each child’s
comfortable reading level. Quizzes on books children have
read are taken on the computer and students receive instant
feedback as to their score. For optimum results students are
encouraged to read up to 50 points
above their lexile
level to 100 points
below their level. However, for just
pleasure reading, students may read as much as 200 points
below their lexile level and still benefit from the reading

The
Cathedral of St. Jude School currently owns quizzes for
2,346 books.
Books are located in both the
Media Center
and the classroom.
